EARLY 1st PATTN HITLER YOUTH MEMBERS PIN.

This was a round enamel pin about 23mm in diameter and was introduced in 1933 before the triangular membership pin.
It featured a rising sun with swastika in the centre and the motto Hj Deutche Arbeiter (working youth) around the outer edge. It was initially worn on the early soft HJ visor cap and is pictures on page 110 in JR Angolia HJ book vol 1.A rare , early badge in great condition...  read more

These are not a common badge, it was awarded to all girls between the ages of 14 and 21 who could pass tests in first aid, nursing, home craft, political ideology and athletics over a 12 month period. was instituted by von Schirach (head of HJ etc) in 1934. Was introduced by von Schirach as a national award in June 1934. It was awarded to all members of the HJ, affiliate organisations and the NSDAP who had attended the Potsdam Youth rally in 1932, or who had been members of the HJ prior to that. A rare example of the Imperial German Seitengewehr S 98/05 bayonet with saw-back upper edge. This consisted of 29 double sawback teeth 10.3" along the spine of the blade. WW1 Imperial German, unissued Iron Cross Second Class with original packet. Iron core with two piece silver frame that is pleasingly heavily patinated with a maker marked suspension ring.
