THIRD REICH OFFICERS MARBLE DESK SET. FLAK 88 SHELL.

I have had several desk sets before but not one quite like this. Commercially made I imagine, consists of the base section of a 88mm Flak shell case mounted between 2 inert large cannon rounds, look like 22mm. These are all mounted vertically on a very nice piece of marble which measures approx 4” x 7” and is 3/4” thick. The 88 case has been fabricated to hold a photo in the middle and has a nice round glass ‘window’. The shell case base is marked 88cm Flak 18 and is dated 1938. Beautifully made. There is an original b/w picture of a very young Imperial German Officer in dress uniform, posed with a sword, in the picture frame. A relative of the owner? Son? Uncle? A really great desk piece which uses a very famous shell case from the infamous 88 mm artillery piece.
