A good example of a War Merit cross 1st class with swords maker marked ' 65 ' indicating manufacture by Klein & Quenzer of Idar-Oberstein. Silver plated tombac with bright highlights and residual frosting to arms and swords. Reverse with block hinge and contoured pin with distinctive offset ' 65 ' to obverse of pin.
