Original WWI Lewis Gun drum magazine. Pan magazine holding 47 rounds in a radial fan which was mechanically indexed and driven by a cam on top of the bolt which operated a pawl mechanism via a lever. Excellent, clean condition marked for MkVI and MkVII .303 with various inspection marks and handpainted a khaki/sand with white quartering.  read more

A little difficult to identify exactly but from the shape of the helmet etc., it is most likely of German origin. A very nice and well made armband in dark blue wool. Further lined inside. Oval cloth Fire Dept badge sewn to middle. Fire helmet with crossed axes. Red band sewn around the middle. No damage, no moth.  read more

As the constraints of the war took hold, economies of scale became the norm. Insignia on the later produced battledress tunic were cut to a minimum.
