A good example of a British Pattern 1853 Socket bayonet manufactured by Salter & Co., Birmingham. Blade manufacturer marked to the face of the blade with accompanying inspection mark. Socket has inspection marks and various weapon/rack and unit markings ( CG41 - Coldstream Guards ? ). Contained in a brass mounted, WD marked, leather scabbard. Good, overall condition with some staining to blade. read more
