A very nice, period framed pair of WW1 medals, consisting of the WAR and VICTORY medal. Center is framed with the Admiralty certificate for his MENTIONED IN DISPATCHES. Below that the original oakleaf spray is mounted on the certificate. The medals and certificate were awarded to ENGINEER LIEUTENANT GEORGE PRESCOTT. He is a MID and KIA. One of the numerous products which were produced during WW1 to sell to families, who would then post to loved ones serving at the front line. This small tin retains the original paper label to the lid. Complete with two of the linen wrapped capsules which were intended to be crushed and inhaled in the event of gas poisoning. Good overall condition with some rust bleed to label.
