Original gilded brass and enamel clutchback OSS collar insignia. Although never authorised for wear by personnel of the Office of Strategic Services it was worn by some of the allied Psychological Warfare Board. Cotton Japanese Senninbari or one thousand stitch belt. The belt was worn around the waist under the shirt or uniform as a good luck charm. The symbolic 1000 stitches were embroidered in red, another symbol of good luck, in this example formed into a series of characters with the further addition of good luck coins. In good, clean condition with minor marking. A reasonably priced example.  read more
