WW1 R.N.A.S. Sea Scout Zero Airship Grouping.

An ephemera grouping to 218935 A.M.2 Victor Dodd OBE, MiD a wireless operator in the R.N.A.S. coastal patrol service using Sea Scout Zero Airships. Operating from Polegate under the Portsmouth Command Dodd was involved in numerous patrols and survived the collision and destruction of S.S.Z.7 and S.S.Z10. Subsequently awarded an MiD for his services, Dodd went onto to have a career as a wireless engineer and appears to have been heavily involved in that area during WW2. He was subsequently awarded an OBE in 1948.
Grouping consists of some excellent photographs of S.S.Z.19 and of Dodd with his fellow crew, London Gazette ( MiD award ), letters, etc. Also included is the scarce 56pg history of the work of RN airships under Portsmouth Command with extensive rolls, awards and heavily illustrated ( including mention and photographs of Dodd ). Accompanied by postwar OBE certificate, letters, notebook and photographs concerning his WW2 and later service. A grouping that would certainly reward further research.
