A MOST INTERESTING GERMAN FAMILY PLAQUE STOLEN FROM A HOUSE IN WW2.
This metal plaque was part of a small batch of WW2 souvenirs bought into an antique shop on the South coast. It’s literally been pulled off the wall as you can see where the screws or nails were top and bottom. Seems to be the family crest for the ‘RAVEN’ family and from the EINBECK area in old Germany. A particularly fine condition British, WWII, No.36M MkI Hand Grenade. Features approx. 90%+ of the original brown lacquer with residual filling markings. Manufacturer marking ' MF J ' to body, indicating manufacture by R.A.Main Falkirk Scotland. Dated base plug 1941 ? by unknown manufacturer with similarly unknown maker to lever. WW1 Memorial Plaque to Tom Barnsley Bartlett. Bartlett was a 2nd Lt. with the Dorsetshire Regt but died on 19/09/1918 fighting whilst attached to 1/8th Hants Regt. It would appear that he was killed on the opening day of the Battle of Megiddo, the final Allied offensive of the Sinai and Palestine Campaign of World War I. He is buried in the Ramleh War Cemetery.

Probably pre-War, coloured FS cap for an o/r of the Royal Corps of Signals. Dark wool body with Cambridge blue piping. 1943 dated Naval 2Pdr H.V. HE/T Round. Projectile profusely marked and in original finish. The lack of filling rings and the presence of blanking plugs in both the tracer and fuze pockets indicate that the projectile was not filled.
The 2Pdr. HV was a high velocity round designed to give the Naval ' Pom-Pom ' an uplift in performance following the advance in aircraft performance.
