Printed WW2 18th Infantry Division printed formation sign. 18th Div was a territorial unit raised in 1939 drawing its personnel from the east of England. It was deployed to India and then to Malaya and was destroyed with many of its officers and men captured in Singapore.

Uncommon WW2 memorial scroll to Major V.D.J.Saxon RASC who died on 24.03.1941 and is buried in Ismailia Cemetery, Egypt. Saxon was possibly a casualty of the opening of Operation Sonnenblume where Rommel pushed British forces back to the Egyptian border having bypassed Tobruk. WW2 memorial scrolls are uncommon in comparison with their WW1 predecessors because they were paid for by their relatives.  read more

This small but significant award was given to girls in the BDM as a proficiency clasp. It was awarded in 2 grades, bronze, silver. I’ve had a few of these over the years, but I can’t remember having a silver grade. Not had or seen one of these before, but it seems to be an early ‘Nazi party’ badge made in Austria for early supporters. Hitler declared ‘Anschluss’ in March 1938, and annexed Austria into the NSDAP. There was strong support for them prior to that date and this badge dates from then.
