WW1 Machine Gunners' Pocket Book.

Combination, aide-memoire, notebook and pocket book for the Machine Gun Officer, in this instance ' N.Dawson 128 M.G. Coy ', whose name is pencilled inside the waterproofed canvas covers. Various pencilled notes including unit roster with next of kin, rations, lists of undesirables ? ( 128 Coy were in Mesopotamia for some of their time ) and stores. Aide memoire contains extensive notes and fold out charts on all aspects of machine gun handling including beaten zones, bullet trajectories, ranges, night shoots, stoppages, emplacements including hygiene and first aid. Good overall condition with age related marking, foxing etc.
