Uncommon WW2 British Generator, Lachrymatory, No. 2 Mk IV. The device was a pyrotechnic smoke grenade designed primarily for riot control and training. Rather than exploding, it burned at a very high temperature to release a thick cloud of irritating chemical smoke. Originally raised in 1820 as cavalry unit, various amalgamations resulted in their current form in 1921 with battle honours including WW1 and WW2 where they received their first armour in 1945.
