WW1 German, zinc dog tag for a member of 408 Minenwerfer-Kompagnie. Tag named to a Wilhelm Losekamm who was originally a member of Ers.Pi Batl 11 and was transferred, probably in 1916 when the unit was formed to M.W.K.408 which has been hand punched to the lower half of the tag. A good used example of a WW1 '08 Pattern Webbing Bayonet Frog with Helve Strap. Dated 1918 and marked ' M.E. Co ' indicating manufacture by the Mills Equipment Company, this example demonstrates the final wartime pattern, omitting the brass reinforcing rivets which were replaced by diagonal lines of stitching. Excellent, used condition unfortunately missing the overlaid embroidered customs eagle which overlaid the cornflower ribbon.
