IMPERIAL GERMAN SOUVENIR/COMMEMORATIVE PLATE FOR 1914-15.
A white china plate produced at the beginning of WW1 as a commemorative or souvenir. Dated 1914-15 they obviously thought it wasn’t going on much longer! Approximately 12” in diameter with a pierced decorative edge. Center portion has a nice Imperial Iron Cross motif, surrounded by a green oak leaf wreath with national colours as a binding ribbon. WW1 IMPERIAL IRON CROSS II CLASS. MAKER MARKED RING WITH RIBBON.
A very nice example of the WW1 Iron Criss second class, complete with a long ribbon. Due to the heavy silver content of these awards, it has toned to black in most places. Decent black paint. Ring suspension is marked with a maker, but quite hard to make out who it is. Looks like ‘75’ but could easily be ‘PS’ or similar. Have included a picture of it, you decide! Nice medal. read more
