A good original First World War period VTC gilt and enamel circlet bearing the initials ' C.L.N.G.V. ' Mounted to the centre with a City of London coat of arms with motto scroll ' Domine Dirige Nos ', the reverse double impressed with maker's details ' J.R.Gaunt & Son London '. A good example of a cap worn by O/R's in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. Serge body with faux silk lining, leather chinstrap surmounted by a brass o/r's ATS cap badge. Pencilled owner's details to lining along with inspection marks indicating 1942 construction date. Light wear marks to lining and in excellent, moth free condition.  read more
