British WW1 No 101 Mark II fuze.

British WW1 No 101 Mark II fuze manufactured in April 1917. The No 101 percussion fuze was introduced in 1916 and represented an attempt to overcome the No 100 fuze's weak points. The 101 did away with the ' cocked pellet ', used a fixed needle, and placed the detonator in the graze pellet. Good, condition.

A 1918 dated No.36M MkI Grenade. This example,a souvenir, recently removed from a mantlepiece, has a body marked ' JMD&SL 1918 ' indicating manufacture by J.M. Doughty & Sons Ltd. London. The base plug is similarly marked but is dated 1917. In good, clean condition with some minor pitting to lever.

WW1 British Vernier's pattern Mk VII compass contained in its original leather case. The leather case is impressed with the name ' I.G.Matterson R.M.F. ' - a quick search reveals this to be Lt.I.G.Matterson of the Royal Munster Fusiliers.
