Two WW1 dated tunics to Capt .William Benham Bell, 12th Royal Lancers. First tunic is a shoulder rank service dress tunic with a tailor's label for ' Henry Coalett, Hanover Sq ' with Bell's name and a date for May 1917. Unissued 3rd Patt F.S.Knife.
Introduced from 1942 the 3rd Pattern F.S. knife was the zenith of FS knives formulating the design and method of production that is still used today. This example looks to have been unissued with even factory sharpened blade still covered in ( now dried ) storage grease. Based on the pairs' experience in the Shanghai Municipal Police they wrote this 96pg book describing combat pistol techniques. A very nice, period framed pair of WW1 medals, consisting of the WAR and VICTORY medal. Center is framed with the Admiralty certificate for his MENTIONED IN DISPATCHES.
