1917 Hospital Presentation Picture Frame.
A Hallmarked silver picture frame with the inscription ' Cober Hill Hospital Xmas 1917 from Lord Airedale ' containing a period picture of a nurse. This frame was presented to staff nursing war wounded at Cober Hill, a large private house on the edge of Cloughton near Scarborough. Probably unissued ' Helmet Leather, Type C Late Pattern ' probably a size 1. Typical late version as issued, unwired with clean lining with some minor marking and fabric chin strap. Original issue SAS beret probably 80/90's issue. Size 7 1/8 with central celluloid internal protector present . Manufactured by Compton Webb the whole beret retains it's carefully shrunken and formed shape. Embroidered badge centrally sewn over the cap slider location.
