Uncommon insignia for a uniformed officer of the NAAFI ( Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes ) . Created by the British government in 1921 to run recreational establishments needed by the British Armed Forces, and to sell goods to servicemen and their families the NAAFI played it's greatest role during WW2 when it ran 7,000 canteens and had 96,000 personnel including control of ENSA.

Detector, Vapour, Pocket, MkII and air sampling pump. 1944 dated tin containing 1943 dated papers and reagents required for the testing for the presence of Mustard Gas and other Blister Gases. Contained in their 1942 dated tin, a mint pair of drivers'/dust goggles. Steel framed with cotton tapes and leather bridge and manufacturer marked ' J.M. & Co., Ltd, 1942 still wrapped in their original paper.
