An example of the ubiquitous Princess Mary's Gift Tin, but this example has been personalised by the addition of an inscription to the inner face of the lid. WW1 RFC Casualty letter grouping No.3 Squadron.
Four letters and their accompanying envelopes sent by Capt Robert John Lillywhte of No.3 Squadron. Lillywhite, nephew of the famous cricketer and founder of the ' Lillywhite ' store in London, gained his Aero Club certificate in 1914 and was involved in Britain's first parachute jump at Hendon in the same year.
