Fund raising was acheived by sale of poppies manufactured in a factory at Richmond, and in a factory at Edinburgh by disabled ex-service men. Printed example of the badge which was originally designed for the H.Q. Line of Communications from India to the fighting line at Imphal and Maungdaw and whose main function was the flying in of supplies to the Fourteenth Army hence the flying stork.
