Carried by fire and crash crew these knives were designed specifically for cutting through harness and parachute shrouds whilst affording protection, by means of the rounded ends, to trapped aircrew. A nice thing this, and actually practical and useful to this day. Would have sat on a military desk, used as a daily calendar throughout the war.
