Using a similar friction type fuze as the No.15 Grenade, the No.16 was designed as fragmentation hand grenade with a cast iron body segmented internally. This example dated 1915 to body with the manufacturer's initials ' L D ' and similarly dated to brass igniter cap. Good, used condition with residual original black finish.
