THIRD REICH ‘ART DECO’ STYLE SILVER RUNNING PRIZE CUP/VASE.

This is a wonderful silver plated ‘art deco’ style vase/award made by the famous WMF company (who still exist today). It stands about 8” tall and has a pleasing wavy design around the middle. The rim is jeweller engraved with the award details in German. It reads ‘Winner 1500 metres race 1938 Artillary Regt 13’ the inscription is bordered by a small swastika at each end. Contents include RDF and intercom equipment fitted to the aircraft, many of which were supplied to the RAF under Lend Lease. Marshal of the Royal Air Force Car Insignia.

Coated steel plate bearing 5 individual chromed stars for use by vehicles carrying officers with the rank of Marshal of the Royal Air Force ( Prince Charles, Lord Stirrup and Lord Craig of Radley are the only living holders of the rank ). All stars are removable and are retained by wing nuts and the plate is retained on the vehicle by a bayonet slot. Excellent, clean condition.  read more

WW1 British Extending Box Trench Periscope.

WW1 British wooden bodied, trench periscope with extending facility. Periscope has inner sleeve which enables it to be extended by increments retained by a brass, sprung loaded catch to the side. No markings evident and in good working condition. This example clearly has a sliding cover to the objective lens which is now missing as is a side mounted handle although does retain fixings.
