A very good original example of the Luftwaffe Ground Assault badge. Awarded to Luftwaffe personnel for achievement in ground combat. Instituted in 1942.
No maker badge but is the type with the Luftwaffe eagle separately applied to the wreath with one rivet.

Green herringbone, heavy duty cotton armband with applied red band and printed ' 13th K.R.R. '. Steel buckle with a purple pencil inscribed name and number to reverse. US M7 knife bayonet for the M16 rifle. Manufactured in W.Germany under contract to Colt's with clear markings to parkerised 165mm double edged blade. Crossguard marked ' M7 ' and contained in a M8A1 scabbard with lace lanyard. Excellent, clean condition.

Small ephemera grouping to a William Thomas Elliott who served with the Royal Naval Division. Elliott's service certificate indicates service with the Hood Battalion but some of the photographs seem to show men from the Anson Battalion. All of these items came from a recent house clearance and includes an RND Christmas card and an H.M.S.Victory cap tally. read more
