Wehrpass, award certificate and correspondence grouping to Uffz.Hermann Wille of I.R.70. Wille was killed after being hit in the chest by a shell splinter on 26.09.42 south of Mosdok am Terek.in the Caucasus. This occurred in operations undertaken in Operation Edelweiß and almost at the highpoint of the German advance in this area with Kleist's 1st Army.

The division was formed on 9 May 1937 in Derna in Italian Libya and named Marmarica after the antique name for the surrounding region. It was effectively destroyed at the Battle of Bardia in 1941.
