Grouping to 7374973 Pte.John James Murphy R.A.M.C.. consisting of playbook and release book, passes, dogtags, insignia and boxed medals. Murphy, originally from Romford, joined the RAMC in 1940 serving with 7th Motor Ambulance Convoy with service in Africa and Italy with the 8th Army. WW1 Memorial plaque to S/41860 Louis Drummond Don - A Coy. 1st/6th Bn. Seaforth Highlanders who was killed on 27/08/1918. Don the son of a Reverend Matthew Don of Achahoish, Argyllshire was probably an early casualty of the 51st Division's operations near Rouex in the opening of the Battle of the Scarpe.

Red, white and blue enamel title surround with winged bullet to voided centre, the reverse impressed in relief 'DID HER BIT ON MUNITIONS GREAT WAR 1914 -1918' and with 'Rd.662629' a registered, design and patent date of 1918. Small area of damage at 6 o'clock but otherwise good, used condition.  read more

WW1 No.23 Mk.II Hand Grenade, known more colloquially as the ' Mills '. Good example with a rough cast finish and a 1917 dated base plug by ' ESH/L. ' ( E.S. Hindley & Sons, Bourton, Dorsetshire ) and a steel filling plug. Residual pink filling ring ( 50% ). Body marked with a ' C '. All parts present and fully strippable.
