Don the son of a Reverend Matthew Don of Achahoish, Argyllshire was probably an early casualty of the 51st Division's operations near Rouex in the opening of the Battle of the Scarpe.

Swiss M-1914 Pioneer Sawback bayonet with original attached frog for the Schmidt-Rubin 1911 carbine. The 48cm blade is in excellent, as issued condition with only minor scabbard related marks. The ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer's details, ' Waffenfabrik Neuhausen.' Al steel scabbard with frog made by ' Molitor, Wengen '. Excellent, used condition.
