WW2 RAF Casualty Grouping.
Framed RAF casualty grouping to 1896555 Sgt. W.J.R.Jeffree who was KIA on 12/12/1944 flying a Lancaster I PB764 of 218 Sqn. on operations against the Ruhrstahl steelworks at Witten.
Grouping includes 1939-45 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, bar France & Germany and War Medal. These are mounted in a frame alongside a hallmarked silver dish given in remembrance of Jeffree by the Borough of Falmouth.
William John Roy Jeffree, originally form Manna, Cornwall, was 21 when he was killed and is buried in the Reichswald War Cemetery. Accompanied by some research, would undoubtedly reward a more thorough search.
