WW2 1st Para Map Case and Algiers Map.

Airborne type map case that has been inscribed to the outside by a Cpl. T( ? ) Singleton, 2 platoon, ' R ' Coy, I Batt Parachute Regt. A.A.C., B.N.A.F. The case has been cut in half leaving the pocket with pencil pouch. Inside the flap to the pouch there is a further inscription by Singleton in purple pencil. Inside the pouch there is a 1942 dated, 1:500,000 scale map ' Alger ' which has been annotated around Algiers possibly relating to landing of Allied forces in 1943. Map in good condition with heavy folding and in slightly grubby condition. Interesting early souvenir of the airborne forces which may well reward further research.
