Early RAF Aircrew Europe casualty group.

Group of three, 39-45, aircrew Europe and War medal group to 561257 Sgt Victor Spurr, 40 Sqn. RAF who was killed on 10 May 1940. Spurr was in a Blenheim IV which was tasked along with twelve others of 40 Sqn, of attacking Ypenburg aerodrome in the Hague as part of the RAF's response to the opening of the German attack in the West. Flying in Sgt.Thomas's aircraft as No.3 to F/L Smeddle, Spurr's aircraft was shot down, probably by Me110s, with no survivors. He is buried in the Hague(Westduin) Cemetery. The boxed group comes with original award/with sympathy slip and a quantity of research. Medals in toned condition with original ribbons and envelopes. Early casualty group.

A good used pair of Mk IIIA flying goggles with brass, black painted frames,perspex lenses,velvet covered mask and an elasticated canvas and leather adjusting strap. Strap marked ' AM 22C/62 Goggles flying Mk IIIA' and with an AID stamp. In good used condition with wear to the mask lining and slight fraying to canvas sides which cover the spring tensioners. Lenses clear with minor, light scratching.

WW2 Wehrmacht Drillichanzug jacket. Introduced in 1933 this cream/off white jacket was worn for training, work details etc. Made from a hard-wearing cotton with a herringbone weave. Clearly maker marked and size stamped 90.5 to the interior, the manner of the markings would suggest pre-war manufacture. In good condition with a scuff to front and a small contemporary repair to the rear of the collar, this tunic seems to have seen little use with pencil issue or cutting marks being visible to the interior. Matching set of RZM marked buttons. Minor marks and stains to exterior.

An excellent example of a Bayonet Pattern 1888 Mk2 with Scabbard Pattern 1888 Land (Mk1). Manufactured by Enfield in 1902 with clear acceptance and manufacturer stamps to both ricassos, blade and grips. Unit marked '7 R H 225' - 7th Royal Highlanders. In excellent, clean condition with bright blade.

Never seen or had one of these before. Made from tough orange cardboard, opens up into 3 sections, and has pockets and areas for notebook, address book and photos? In good sound condition, but a little grubby. The original lined notebook is there, and in one pocket, 3 original Fieldpostcards. A very unusual thing..I think!!

Sterling silver, WW2 USAAF air gunner's wings. Die cast with stout pin back fitting, marked 'sterling' to the reverse. In good condition with patination to the relief.

British booby trap Switch No.6 Release Mk I in common usage with various of the special forces. Designed to be allowed to be inserted into a narrow opening such as under a door or behind a draw, movement will allow release of the switch thus intiating a charge. Comes with screw-in fuze adapter and is in excellent functioning condition.

British pull switch No.1, Mk.1, another of the series of booby trap switches in use by special forces. Clearly marked MD.1 A.13 to top of barrel and complete with it\'s anchor plate and percussion cap holder. Fully strippable and in excellent working condition. INERT

A good example of a nickel, 1913 dated military whistle. With impressed patent number for 'Hudson's patent' and manufacturer marked 'J.Hudson & Co. 244 Barr St, B'ham'. Light patination overall with original leather fob.

Scarce WW2 Japanese Type 4 pottery hand grenade. Originally containing Type 88 explosive which was initiated by a match composition attached to a fuze with a 4-5 second delay which was lacquered into the neck of the grenade. Now empty, the grenade is in good condition with a few surface marks. INERT
