WW2 period R.A.F No 85 Battle of Britain Squadron gilt and enamel badge, depicting a voided hexagon and the Latin motto ' Nocto Diuque Venamur ' (We hunt by day and night), 85 Squadron was originally equipped with Gladiators and re equipped with Hurricanes and was extensively employed with the BEF in France and then the Battle of Britain..
