Featuring the work prominent British humorist and cartoonist Captain Charles Bruce Bairnsfather Fragments from France are a collection of his work published weekly in The Bystander magazine during the First World War. Code AF, Foldex, Europe (Air). 1944, produced by Foldex for the Directorate of Military Survey at the War Office. Large, card bound series of interlinked maps which allowed a navigator to plot a route from Paris in the West to Regensburg in the East. German WW1 shoulder board for Leutnant rank of an officer in the Prussian Infantry Regt.8. Sew -in type with subdued wire with Prussian colours in chevron mounted on white cotton underlay indicating Infantry. A now faded gilt ' 8 ' is affixed to the board indicating the Regt. Board has been roughly removed from a uniform, common when acquiring such pieces at the time.  read more
