Special Forces /SOE code silk.
Highly uncommon, wartime enciphering key printed on silk as used by SAS, Jedburgh teams and other clandestine forces. Using the one-time pad system of encription this key was used for encoding and decoding messages and was printed on silk for it's durability and ease of concealment, particularly in clothes. WWII No.36M Mk I Hand Grenade.
A British, WWII, No.36M MkI Hand Grenade in excellent condition. Features 99% of the original brown lacquer with no obvious signs of the filling rings which suggests that it was souvenired before filling. Manufacturer marking to body ' 5 PSC.' indicating manufacture by Parkinson Stone Co Ltd., with the lever similarly marked. Base base plug marked ' TA&S ' for T. Ashead & Sons.
