WW2 RAF 'E' Type airtex flying helmet.
Unissued RAF 'Helmet, airtex, Type E'. Coded 22C/974 indicating a Size 2 this example with the elasticated chinstrap indicative of a late type. The airtex Type E helmet was introduced for crews on extended flights, such as Coastal Command, for comfort. This example in excellent , unissued condition with clean chamois inner earpieces, flexible and undamaged earphone carriers. All leather straps clean, flexible and undamaged with various issue stamps to interior and exterior.
Switch No.10 Time Pencil with box.
INERT Switch No.10, Time Pencil. Widely used by SOE and special forces this delay action fuze was used in conjunction with a detonator or Bickford cord to set off explosives. This example has a green safety strip indicating an approx. 3hr delay. The pencil was initiated by crushing the copper tube that shrouds a glass ampuole containing corrosive liquid. This example comes with an original tin which originally contained 5 time pencils. Tin in excellent condition with some remaining stencilling.
Bund Freikorps Epp sleeve badge.
Embossed bronzed steel lions' head emblem of the Bund Freikorps Epp mounted on to a black material diamond. Formed by Ritter von Epp during the Freikorps period, the Bund was formed in 1933 by it's remaining veterans using a version of the insignia used in 1919. In excellent condition and maker marked to the reverse. Uncommon.
Switch No.9 'L Delay' .
Increasingly uncommon Switch No.9 'L Delay' MkI with storage tin and very uncommon instruction leaflet. Standard equipment for many of the special forces, resistance etc the 'L Delay' acts as a delay fuze working on the principle that Tellurium lead breaks after a period of time under a continuous tension at a given temperature. This particular example is for a 1 hour delay at 65 degrees F. Comes complete with an MD1, 1945 dated tin and a 1944 dated instruction leaflet marked 'Not to be taken into front line trenches'. 'L Delay' in excellent condition with some paint loss to information tab, tin equally clean condition with clearly legible stencilling. Instruction leaflet has some rust marks to front cover but is otherwise intact and legible.
WWI British pocket compass.
White metal cased, 1917 dated, British pocket compass. Compass contained in a white metal case opened by push button with the maker's details F.Barker & Son, London and date stamped to the lid. Bright polished interior with inscribed serial number. Luminous dial in good working order, case in good used condition with some surface wear and scratching
Luftwaffe 1940 Belt Buckle and tab.
Stamped steel 1940 Patt. Luftwaffe belt buckle for enlisted men/NCOs with leather tab. Buckle not maker marked but leather tab clearly stamped ' Bruder Schneider A.G. Wien 1940.' Buckle appears to have remains of a black finish over grey but generally appears to have been unissued.
