Size 2 with paper manufacturer's label (E.Penton & Son 1914) to the interior. In good, sound condition with some staining. Concealed blade.
11.5cm blackened, fluted blade designed to be concealed, often in pencils. These were sent into POW camps or provided as part of a kit issue and the pencil broken open to remove the blade. Two holes are provided in the top of the blade to enable the blade to be mounted or bound onto or into a handle, in this example they are hidden by string bound over them. Minor marking to fluted blade.
Collar Stud Escape Compass
One of the more igenious concealed compasses from Clayton Hutton\'s team at MI9. This pattern was designed to resemble the collar studs that were generally available from Woolworths and other retailers. Originally the compass face would have been concealed by a coating of white paint which would have been scratched off to allow it\'s use as a compass. This example in good working order with very slight traces of whitener around the rim and some minor scratches to compass face. A scarce example of this pattern of escape aid.

VERY RARE..LUFTWAFFE GENERAL SUMMER BREAST EAGLE>
I have actually never had one of these before, and it's beautiful! Luftwaffe breast eagle in gilt-washed aluminium for the Gernerals Summer tunic or shirt. Fantastic detail, made by ASSMANN, with 'A' cast into reverse. Pin back.MINT CONDITION. This is actually not the same as a normal Assmann aluminium breast eagle, it has subtle differences. Gilt wash for starters, then the actually eagle has more and better detail, when comparing the two side by side. Also the eagle itself is slightly different, daintier, and the eagles leg which holds the swastika is cast free of the main body of the bird. So very delicate!! The standard eagle has the leg and swastika cast as part of the main body, all joined together. I have shown a photo of the two together to show the differences. A rare item and would look fantastic with any Luftwaffe display, especially if you have some Luftwaffe Gerneral's insignia etc.
WW2 Japanese wrist compass.
