Standard pattern handbag issued to members of the ATS throughout WWII and features a canvas body, brass ' Lightening ' branded zipper and leather shoulder strap. A good example of the spring cosh made for the OSS and SOE.
18.5cms long when closed and 43cms extended with a contemporary paracord lanyard. A little over 8000 coshes were manufactured by the Timms Spring Co. of Ohio of which 1000 were delivered to the British Ministry of Supply.
This example in good operable condition with some minor wear and scratches and toned overall.
