U-Boat War Badge, gilded zinc construction maker marked ' L/56 ' indicating manufacture by Funcke & Bruninghaus, Ludenscheid. Good detail with coke bottle shaped pin to reverse with a flat wire catch mounted on a separate plate. Typical of the zinc badges where the gilding wears to highpoints showing the zinc beneath.
