RAF tissue paper escape map - Abyssinia

Approx. 46 x 46cm. Scale 1 : 2,000,000. Sheet 0 Abyssinia up to the borders of Kenya. Created by Clayton Hutton of MI9 using wood pulp from a Mulberry tree, these maps were incredibly thin and light. As a result these maps were strong, silent to use and could be concealed in much smaller spaces than the equivalent silk map. They were incredibly resilient and could be screwed up or soaked in water and still retain their utility. In excellent, unissued condition.
