COLLECTION OF PAPER ‘BRING BACK’ SOUVENIRS FROM HOLLAND. DROP LEAFLET ETC ETC
All from a recent acquisition. There were 7 items of war-time paperwork, all bought back by a British soldier from Holland/France. The most interesting is the August 16 1940 edition of the Daily Mirror! However, the items consist of a ‘drop leaflet’ depicting Himmler inspecting his ‘last reserves’ which consist of women, children and old people. It’s in Dutch so was dropped on the population at the time. It’s dated 1944. It is complete but has been folded many times over the years so is a little fragile. There is also a ‘Death of Hitler’ two sided propaganda card. Picture of Hitler on the front and then on the rear is the comic description of the death of Hitler. There are two pieces of paper occupation money, a 1938 dated 1 Gilder note and a 1936 dated French 100 franc note.
