WW1 RFC 30 Squadron Silver Badge.

Highly scarce silver squadron badge for 30 Squadron RFC. Non marked silver oval bearing the squadron badge of a palm tree surmounting the motto ' Ventre a Terre ' ( All Out ) and the date 1915.
Formed in March 1915 the squadron moved to Iraq where they were joined by a half flight of the nascent Australian Air Force under Cap H.Petre and operated against the Turks using BE2s.
Made from unmarked silver ( tested ) with unusual pin back fittings which may well indicate manufacture in Egypt for example. V.uncommon.
