1939 Silver Wound Badge.

A good, late war example of the 1939 2nd Type Wound Badge in silver. Steel, needle pin fastening , marked to the reverse, with the number in relief ' 65 ' to the base of the catch support, this is the LDO number for Klein & Quenzer A.G., Idar/Oberstein. Typically the finish, whilst undamaged, has begun to be absorbed by the base metal but leaving a patinated appearance. The reverse appears to have been ' over dipped ' leaving a oxidised ,layered finish.
