WW2 German Fuze A.Z. 23.

Multi-purpose combined graze and direct action fuze with an optional delay of 0.15 second and used in a variety of H.E. shells from 75 - 105mm. Displays the ' A.Z.23 ' designation and manufacturer's details and the screw head which adjusts the delayed-action setting ; from 'superquick' ( OV = Ohne Versoegerung ) to 'delay' ( MV = mit Versoegurung ). These equated to instantaneous or a delay of 0.11 second. Inspection stamp to base would indicate early manufacture. Good condition, has been cleaned.
