Siamese P1907 ( Smiling Tiger ) Bayonet.

British made P07 Enfield bayonet part of a small contract for Siam and has the famous “Smiling Tiger” cartouche on the left side of the Picasso with 4 Thai characters. Supplied by BSA to the government of Siam in 1920 only 10,000 were made for King Rama’s bodyguards, “The Wild Tiger Corps”. This example contained in it's locally produced steel scabbard made by the simple expedient of braising the throat and chape of the original scabbard to a steel tube in order to replace the leather components which tended to fall foul of the climate. Unusually clean condition with one minor dent to scabbard.
