WEHRMACHT SIGNALMAN/CABLE LAYER BACK PACK SYSTEM.

A most unusual item and often seen in combat footage. This metal rig would have been carried and strapped to the back of one of the cable laying signal troops. Often targeted by allied snipers to delay laying communication cable, it was a dangerous job! This is the original metal frame and detachable metal reel. All in original green paint colour. It also has the original brown leather shoulder straps and clips. As well as the original leather lanyard to slow down the reel when paying out the cable! The frame is marked with the makers name of Rich.Leppert and is dated 1937. It’s also stamped with a great little Waffenampt eagle and swastika with the WA number underneath.
Fantastic piece of kit, rare and 200% original in every way. Re-enactors or museum display??
