Japanese One Thousand Stitch belt.
Cotton Japanese Senninbari or one thousand stitch belt. The belt was worn around the waist under the shirt or uniform as a good luck charm. The symbolic 1000 stitches are hand-stitched being circled in ink with the knots having a clear tail .The belt has been created by folding a larger piece of cotton with ties tacked to either end. Bearing clear evidence of having been worn this example is a less elaborate pattern more typical of later war patterns. Good, used condition with all ties intact.
