WW1 Baden Field Cross of Honour.

WW1 Baden Field Cross of Honour (Badisches Feld-Ehrenkreuz). Silver gilt and enamel Maltese cross with swords and superimposed plaques to the obverse and reverse suspended by the original ribbon in the colours of the state of Baden. The Cross was instituted in 1920 by the Badischer Kriegerbund (Baden War Veterans’ Association) and awarded until 1933. Recipients were required to buy their Cross and since it was of high quality and workmanship, it was expensive and thus the number issued was small. As a consequence it is one of the more uncommon Great War veterans’ awards. Good, used condition with light rubbing to highlights.
