Silver 2nd patt. Royal Naval Patrol Service sleeve badge. Awarded for six months sea service and worn by all ranks, this badge was considered an 'award' .The NPS operated vessels, often converted commercial craft and fishing boats on Minesweeping and Anti-Submarine duties in both home waters and further afield. The 2nd pattern badge replaced the first pattern which had a pin fastening with the replacement design intended to be sewn to the lower left sleeve. Good, used condition.
