WW2 London Irish Officer's 56th Division BD Blouse.

1943 Dated '40 patt battledress blouse bearing the insignia of the 167th ( London ) Infantry Brigade, 56th Division, the London Irish Rifles. Size 15 BD ( Height 5' 11" - 6' 0" Chest 42" - 43", Waist 37" - 38" ), label indicating manufacture by Buckley & Sons Ltd. Rifle green backed, black Major's rank crowns, black horn LIR buttons and blackened brass LIR collar badges. BD has extensive tailoring with collar tailored ' open ' and lining to the reverse of the collar with the reverse having extensive pleats.
The 167th Brigade left the UK in 1942 and saw fighting in Tunisia and then going on to land at Salerno and was involved in actions on the Volturno and against the Gustav Line.
Uniform in excellent, clean and moth free condition with a small section of the lower seam of the left sleeve having come unstitched,
