A MOST INTERESTING RAD COMMEMORATIVE DESK SET.

Cast in steel and measures approximately 12" x 9". It depicts a mound of earth with a RAD boot to one side, on the other is a removable RAD shovel in nickel positioned in a slot in the base. The steel is cat to look like somewhere where the RAD have been digging, and the boot is also cast in steel and removable. Around the lower edge are the detail of the RAD unit. ' Reichsadbeitsdeinst Abt. 4/235 Weissersee' I think this is a municipality in Berlin. I imagine there were sold as a remembrance of the service in the RAD, and remember virtually everyone did service in this organisation, before joining the armed forces. Steel is coloured to look like bronze, and is quite heavy. There is a makers name of Eingelr underneath.
