WW2 Wehrmacht Officer's Visor Cap - Transport.

A good, honest Wehrmacht Heer Visor Cap to an Officer of the Transport arm. Fine cloth body with blue piping indicating arm of service ( Transport ), bullion wreath with alloy cockade surmounted by an aluminium Wehrmacht Heer eagle. Bullion cap cords with a vulcan fibre, blackened peak with a caramel lining which has worn exactly where someone would lift the cap on and off. Heavily soiled but intact and flexible leather headband with an artificial silk lining showing signs of wear. The diamond sweat shield is now missing but there are residual remains of the distinctive shaped label which indicates manufacture by Viro. Generally good condition showing heavy use, however, the cap retains it's shape and is solid. There are areas of moth peppering to the crown and the reverse underside of the body. Two ' nips ' to the piping and an area of moth damage to the central green band underneath the cockade. Priced accordingly.
